The NAS1611-383 is an aircraft service packing supplied as a new, traceable part for use where a replaceable sealing element is required. Manufactured to aerospace workmanship standards, this packing provides a compressible seal between mating parts to stop fluid or air leakage and to protect assemblies from contamination. Supplied with trace paperwork, it is intended for certified maintenance and repair.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

9109M45P05

  • Aerospace-grade manufacture: Made to OEM/workmanship standards and supplied with trace documentation for certified use.

  • Sealing function: Designed to form a pressure-resistant seal between mating faces, stems or housings.

  • Good compressibility: Conforms to irregular surfaces to make a reliable seal without excessive assembly force.

  • Low extrusion tendency: Engineered to resist being forced out of the joint under pressure when installed correctly.


  • Seals valve stems and packing glands in hydraulic actuators during overhaul and routine maintenance.

  • Fits gland seals on control actuators for flaps, slats, and trim systems during scheduled inspections.|

  • Installed in pneumatic valve assemblies to stop air leaks in pressurization and environmental control systems.

  • Used around fuel-system service ports and fittings when a certified replacement packing is required.


  • Is this packing compatible with hydraulic fluid and Jet A?

Compatibility depends on the packing compound. The CofC or manufacturer data will confirm which fluids the supplied packing is approved for.

  • How do I install it correctly?

Install it into the gland or groove per the aircraft maintenance manual: clean mating surfaces, seat the packing evenly, and use the correct lubrication if the AMM specifies it. 

  • How should I inspect packing in service?

Look for flattening, hardening, cuts, extrusion, or contamination; replace if any deterioration or loss of sealing shape is visible.
