About this product
The 993303-125-5 is a factory-new bonding braid used in aircraft electrical and structural grounding systems. A bonding braid is a flexible, woven conductive strap that creates a low-resistance electrical path between two points, like between panels, doors, structure, and equipment, to equalize potential, preserve EMI/RA shielding, provide static discharge path,s and support lightning/grounding requirements.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

993303-125-5

  • Flexible conductive braid: Provides a pliable electrical path that tolerates vibration and movement between joined parts.

  • Low electrical resistance: Ensures effective grounding and bonding to keep parts at a common electrical potential.

  • Aviation-grade construction: Manufactured under controlled processes to meet aircraft workmanship expectations.

  • Terminations ready for fitment: Supplied or fitted with crimpable lugs, solder tags or stamped ends suitable for approved installation methods.

  • Bonds removable access panels to the airframe structure to maintain EMI shielding and lightning continuity.

  • Provides a grounding path between avionics racks and the aircraft chassis to reduce electrical noise.

  • Links door frames and service hatches to the structure to prevent static charge build-up and arcing.

  • Connects antenna bases and coaxial braid drains to the airframe ground for RF return and lightning protection.

  • What is this braid used for?

It creates a flexible, low-resistance electrical path to equalize potential, ground equipment, and preserve EMI/lighting protection where specified by the AMM or wiring diagrams.

  • What material is the braid made of?

Bonding braid is commonly manufactured from copper or tinned-copper braid for good conductivity and corrosion resistance. Specific material and finish are shown on the Manufacturer’s CofC.

  • Can I cut it to length in the hangar?

Yes, you can cut to length, but follow the AMM. Use correct end-preparation and termination practices and record any modification per maintenance procedures.
