About this product
The A5381263520096 is a heat-shrinkable splice designed for aircraft electrical wiring harness repairs and new harness assemblies. It combines a pre-tinned copper crimp barrel with a transparent, radiation-crosslinked polyvinylidene fluoride insulation sleeve and an internal thermoplastic adhesive liner. Once heated, the sleeve shrinks to form a tight seal and the adhesive melts to bond the insulation to the wire jacketing, providing a moisture- and corrosion-resistant connection.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

A5381263520096

  • Environment-Resistant Seal - The PVDF sleeve and adhesive liner create an IP-67 equivalent barrier against moisture, salt spray, and hydraulic fluids, ensuring long-term reliability.

  • Integrated Heat-Shrink Insulation - Sleeve shrinks uniformly over the splice when heated, restoring insulation thickness and dielectric strength to OEM harness specifications.

  • Pre-Tinned Crimp Barrel - Provides optimal solderability and oxidation resistance, reducing contact resistance and ensuring stable electrical conductivity.

  • Thermoplastic Adhesive Liner - Melts during installation to bond with the wire jacket, preventing fluid ingress, wick-back, and vibration-induced fretting.

  • Repairing damaged or worn aircraft wiring harnesses in the cockpit, avionics bay, and wingwalk areas.

  • Splicing power, signal, and coaxial lines in flight-control and instrument systems.

  • Joining wires in harsh environments such as engine compartments and nacelle ducting.

  • Building custom harness assemblies for avionics retrofits, upgrades, and new installations.

  • How is the splice installed?

Strip the wire ends to the specified length, insert conductors fully into the crimp barrel, crimp with an approved aerospace crimp tool, then apply heat evenly until the sleeve shrinks and adhesive flows.

  • What environmental protections does this design offer?

After installation, the splice is sealed against moisture, chemicals, and corrosion, achieving performance equivalent to IP-67 ingress protection.

  • Is special tooling required?

Use a calibrated aerospace crimp tool with die sets matched to the splice’s barrel size and a heat gun or induction heater capable of 120 °C–200 °C for uniform shrink.
