About this product
The AN960PD6L is a light-series AN flat washer intended for use with machine screws and bolts. It’s the thin, low-profile washer used to spread clamp load, act as a shim when needed, and provide a smooth bearing surface under nut heads and bolt heads in aircraft assemblies. The AN960 family is produced to long-standing aerospace/NAS standards, and this variant is commonly manufactured in aluminum with a chromate/anodized finish.

AN960PD6L

  • Light-series profile: Thinner than standard AN960 washers so it adds minimal stack height.

  • Lightweight: Aluminum construction minimizes added weight where that matters.

  • Smooth bearing surface: Prevents fretting and protects paint or coating under fasteners.

  • Easy to inspect: Simple part to check during maintenance, look for distortion, corrosion or thinning.


  • Under nut or bolt heads on thin panels to spread the load without adding much stack height.

  • As a thin shim when the bolt grip is slightly short on avionics or interior panels.

  • Under machine-screws on instrument bezels to protect painted finishes in the cockpit.

  • In wiring-tray or harness clamps to prevent fastener pull-through of light panels.

AN960PD6L is commonly produced in aluminum alloy with a chromate/anodized finish.

  • How do I inspect it for serviceability?

Check for distortion, cracked or chipped edges, corrosion or excessive thinning; replace if any defect is found.

  • Does it prevent corrosion between dissimilar metals?

It provides a protective bearing surface, but if dissimilar-metal corrosion is a concern, follow the OEM guidance on isolation or material selection.
