About this product
The AS3582-345 is a factory-new packing element supplied with a Manufacturer’s CofC for traceable use in certificated maintenance. In aircraft practice “packing” is the flexible sealing material used in glands, valves, actuators and rotating or reciprocating shafts to prevent fluid or air leakage while allowing controlled motion. This packing restores the designed sealing function and clearance in different locations.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

AS3582-345

  • Good sealing performance: Designed to provide reliable static or low-motion sealing to prevent leaks and maintain system pressure.

  • Low compression-set: Engineered to retain sealing force over time when used within the specified limits and installation practice.

  • Abrasion and extrusion resistance: Constructed to resist extrusion and wear in glands and sliding interfaces when fitted correctly.

  • Easy to fit and replace: Supplied ready for installation with minimal special tooling required, reducing shop turnaround time.


  • Seals the piston or rod in linear actuators to keep hydraulic fluid inside the cylinder during movement.

  • Prevents leakage around valve stems in hydraulic and pneumatic control valves on the aircraft.

  • Keeps lubricant or hydraulic fluid inside pump housings while allowing the shaft to rotate.

  • Used in service or utility components where a flexible seal is required during retraction/extension cycles.
