About this product
The P2-07-0009-520 is a rechargeable EF-2C flashlight system designed for mounting inside an aircraft cockpit or cabin. Powered by a built-in nickel-metal hydride battery pack, it operates from the aircraft’s 28 VDC bus and provides a bright, focused beam when needed. Aircraft-Grade Construction - The housing is molded from flame-retardant ABS material that meets FAR 25 and 121 fire-resistance rules, ensuring safe use in an aircraft environment.
Rechargeable Battery Pack - Contains a nickel-metal hydride battery that recharges automatically whenever the flashlight is seated in its bracket and the aircraft power is on. No external charger is required.
Auto-Shutoff Function - If left on accidentally, the flashlight will shut off after a preset time to conserve battery life and prevent overheating.
Mounting Bracket with Quick-Release - A spring-loaded metal bracket holds the flashlight securely yet allows one-hand pull-out. The bracket includes a “push-to-test” button that displays battery status via green, yellow, or red LEDs.
Mounted on the flight deck to provide a reliable, portable light source during electrical failures or nighttime operations.
Used by flight attendants or technicians to inspect overhead bins, galleys, and other compartments in low-light conditions.
When performing preflight or troubleshooting, mechanics can remove the flashlight and use its beam to view hard-to-reach areas.
Placed in enclosures within maintenance vans or test benches, where it can be quickly grabbed for system checks on the ramp.
Will the flashlight work if removed from the bracket during flight?
Yes. Once removed, it runs off its internal battery and provides the full beam until the battery is depleted.
Is this flashlight FAA-approved?
Yes. It is supplied new with FAA 8130-3 dual-release certification and is eligible for EASA Form 1 documentation.
What maintenance does the EF-2C require?
Periodically inspect the bracket for secure mounting, check the push-to-test indicator for battery health, and verify the lens and housing are free of cracks. Replace the flashlight if the battery fails to hold a charge or if the plastic housing is damaged.
