About this product
The EN3660-005K08A is a 90-degree connector backshell designed to protect and finish cable terminations on circular and rectangular aircraft connectors. Supplied new with a Manufacturer’s CofC, it provides strain relief, braid/shield termination, and a tidy, serviceable exit for wiring where space or routing requires a right-angle orientation. Manufactured to aviation workmanship standards, the backshell helps maintain connector shielding and protects the cable-to-connector junction from abrasion and incidental contamination when fitted per the OEM termination practice.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

EN3660-005K08A

  • 90° orientation: Changes cable exit direction to save space and improve routing behind panels.

  • Strain relief function: Clamps the cable jacket so the connector contacts are not loaded by movement or pull.

  • Shield/braid termination provision: Allows proper termination of cable braid to preserve EMI grounding.

  • Cable clamp/gland compatibility: Accepts common clamping inserts or glands to secure a range of cable diameters.

  • Provides right-angle cable exit and strain relief for avionics panel connectors in crowded instrument bays.

  • Terminates and grounds the RF cable braid at antenna feed harnesses where routing requires a bend.

  • Protects and secures engine-bay harness exits where space and vibration demand compact routing.

  • Neat, shielded exit for wiring behind avionics racks and equipment trays in avionics bays.

  • What connectors will this backshell fit?

Confirm fit by matching the backshell part number to the connector series and shell size in the IPC or connector datasheet. Fit depends on the connector shell and thread form.

  • Do I need seals or gaskets?

If the installation requires environmental sealing, fit the correct OEM gaskets/seals with the backshell per the AMM or connector manufacturer instructions.

  • What tools are required to install it?

Standard hand tools and approved crimp/termination tooling are normally sufficient. Follow the connector maker’s instructions for torque and clamp installation.
